Ah, springtime! That magical season when nature awakes from its slumber, flowers begin to bloom, and everyone starts talking about their favorite outdoor activities.

Everyone, that is, except me.

While others are out frolicking in the newly warmed air, embracing the great outdoors and all its seasonal glories, you’ll find me engaging in my favorite springtime activity: avoiding springtime activities.

Yes, you read that right.

While the world buzzes with the excitement of rebirth and renewal, I’m perfectly content to burrow further into my cocoon of creativity, surrounded by the comforting glow of my computer screen.

My springtime is spent in a thrilling cycle of writing, reading, and teaching authors how to craft their own literary masterpieces and manifest more from their author careers. In my day job as Carissa Andrews, CEO of Author Revolution, I’m too busy revolutionizing the literary world to chase after wayward frisbees or get up close and personal with pollen. (Even though, I’m a mom with more than enough kids to try to entice me outside! HA!)

But don’t let my indoor inclinations fool you. I celebrate spring in my own unique way. For me, the arrival of spring means the opportunity to open the windows (just a crack, to keep the manuscripts from blowing away) and let the sound of birdsong mix with the clickety-clack of my keyboard. It’s about finding new inspiration in the light that lingers a little longer each evening, casting the perfect ambiance for late-night writing marathons.

And let’s not forget the seasonal refreshment of choice: iced coffee.

As the temperatures rise, my coffee cools down, providing the necessary fuel to keep the creative juices flowing and the words pouring out like a springtime shower.

So, while you won’t catch me planting a garden or hiking through the blooming wilderness (I mean, sometimes, but it’s only on occasion), I am fully engaged in cultivating the fertile ground of imagination and helping others to grow their stories from the seeds of their ideas.

In a way, you could say my favorite springtime activity is being an ardent gardener of creativity, diligently watering the seeds of potential with coffee and nurturing them with the warmth of passion and the light of inspiration.

In short, spring finds me doing what I love most: living and breathing the written word, and helping others do the same.

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
