What are your top 10 favorite books and favorite author(s)?
I have always loved Dan Brown. He is probably number one. When I was younger, I loved the
Hunger Games series and Goosebumps. I also loved Bossy Pants by Tina Fey.
How long have you been writing?
I have always enjoyed reading and writing. In school I took honors English classes and loved
writing poetry, short stories and narratives. It has always been a fun hobby.
Do the characters all come to you at the same time or do some of them come to you as you write?
This story manifested pretty organically in the moment as I was coming up with it. Then I just had
to write it down.
Do you see writing as a career?
This story was more of a passion project but I am excited to see where it goes!
What do you think about the current publishing market?
For a new author, it is pretty overwhelming. There are so many options and opinions you really
have to find the right path for you and your story.
Do you prefer to write in silence or with noise? Why?
Silence. I need to be able to hear myself think.
Do you write one book at a time or do you have several going at a time?
One at a time
Pen or type writer or computer?
Computer
Do you have any advice to offer for new authors?
Do as much research as possible – figure out what your goals are for your story and your life and
find a mentor to help you through the process.
What makes a good story?
Give the reader a reason to turn the page – make them want to find out what happens next!

Sarah has a Master’s Degree from National Louis University and she loves music, traveling and her
