Synopsis
“Love is an earthquake. It comes when you least expect it. It rips the ground clear away. Right out from under you.”
The day Lia Smart met Grayson Walker, eight years ago, was the day she fell helplessly in love with him. Coincidentally, it was the same day Grayson fell in love with someone else: Lia’s smarter, sexier, superior-in-every-way older sister, Alex.
Now, nearly a decade later, Alex and Grayson are long over and twenty-two-year-old Lia has finally managed to forget all those lonely nights she spent pining after her sister’s boyfriend. But when Grayson unexpectedly arrives back in town with Alex for Labor Day weekend and the two announce that they’re not only back together but engaged, all the feelings that Lia buried suddenly come bubbling back to the surface.
But Lia is no longer the awkward, gangly tomboy she was at fourteen. Far from it. And Grayson is conflicted by the lustful thoughts he’s now having for her. He knows he could never act on those thoughts, however. Grayson has always prided himself on being one of the “good guys.” But as the weekend wears on, he’s finding this new grown-up version of Lia more and more impossible to resist…
Heartbreaking and sexy with a dash of humor, Sophie Swift crafts a passionate, unforgettable tale about desire, growing up, and the kind of love that shakes us to the core.

My Review
Who among us have not felt the sting of a one-sided love? These characters are very relatable. The author writes with lots of metaphors that paints a wonderful picture of the characters and the situations they are in.
The ultimate sibling rivalry plays out between two sisters in love with the same guy. On top of that they both are jealous of each other but for different reasons. Lia the younger sister, worships her older sister Alex and has major self-esteem issues. With that said Lia is likeable, definitely not a victim and most certainly not innocent. I like her sense of humor and her heart.
Alex, is a complete raving B I T C H, strong, independent, and pretends to be the picture of confidence, but she is hiding a lot of issues that she chooses not to deal with. Both girls and the guy they are in love with Grayson, suffer from abandonment issues, they were all abandoned by a parent as children which continues to affect them as adults.
Grayson wants to do what is right, a southern gent, who is ruled by his obsession with Alex. There were moments when I wanted to punch him in the nut, but yet I still felt for him and in a way related to his angst.
Anyway the story does have a happy ending. I really enjoyed it and read it in record time. I couldn’t put it down. The only parts I skipped through were the vivid sex scenes. I tend to get bored reading too much info in sex scenes but that’s just me.
Overall the writing was good, the story was great, it was a little predictable but still a fun read and I would recommend it.

Sibling rivalry and unrecruited love sounds like an interesting combination. Glad you enjoyed this one!
