What has your journey been like as an author so far?
I’ve written for years and years, but how I finally became a published author was a longtime friend of mine actually self-published his own horror novel and was telling me about his success and how easy it was and he wore me down over several months until I finally published my first book Lady of the Dead.
What is your favorite holiday?
I love Halloween. It is my favorite holiday. I actually met my husband when we were both volunteering at a haunted house. So we’re both weirdos. 😊
Tell us something that took you out of your comfort zone
A friend of mine convinced me to do stand-up comedy lessons so we actually had to do stand-up comedy as the graduation ceremony. It’s something I always thought about, but never thought I’d actually do so it was really surreal.
What are some of your pet peeves?
My biggest pet peeve is when people are rude to those who work in the service industry. There’s absolutely no reason for it and it drives me up the wall.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
If I’m honest, I don’t know. I know that around the time I published my fourth book I still didn’t consider myself a writer. But somewhere between book 4 and book 30, I consider myself a writer without even thinking about it.
What is your spirit animal?
I would say that my animal equivalency would be my Rottweiler. She’s really funny, goofy, and afraid of plastic bags. And I find that to be absolutely charming.
